What to Bring On Your First Visit
When you come in for your appointment with us, please bring with you the following items:
● Your current eyeglasses or contact lenses, if any
● Any previous eye examination records
● A list of the current medications you are taking
● Your insurance information
We recommend that you bring sunglasses or a wide-brimmed hat to shield your eyes from the sun. It may be necessary for us to dilate your pupils, which will make your eyes sensitive to the light and distort your vision slightly after the examination. This is normal though and would subside in a few hours.
What to Expect During Your First Visit
Your initial visit with us will take approximately one to two hours.
We will record your medical history and other pertinent information and then perform all the tests required to get a complete picture of your ocular health. After the tests are done, we will discuss the results with you as well as all the treatment options available, as necessary. We believe that open communication is a key part toward building a good doctor-patient relationship. We will speak honestly and candidly with you about your diagnosis and the recommended treatment.
